Are you experienced? How much experience do you have?
The DJ for your event should have at least 2-5 years experience performing at events similar to yours. The more experienced, the better it is for you!

Do you have back-up equipment on hand at your events?
If the DJ you hire doesn't have back-up gear on hand, you may not have music if the main equipment fails. The answer should be "Yes!"
We always have back-up gear. If we ever lose sound due to equipment failure our professional DJ’s will have it back up and running in NO TIME!
Do you have back-up DJs in case my DJ is ill or has an emergency?
The answer must be "Yes." If the service you hire doesn't have a back-up DJ on hand or on call, you could be left without a DJ on the day of your event.

Is the price of your service a good value?
The cheapest DJ is rarely the best value. The DJ sets the tone of your event and
holds the power to entertain or turn off your guests. Don't chance ruining
fine catering, decorations, flowers, and photography by trying to save a

What type of equipment will you provide?
The answer should be: Modern, professional, equipment that looks and sounds great. The gear should be newer, professional equipment that is capable of handling an event the size that you are having. It should be presented attractively so it will complement your decorations and flowers. And it should be set up prior to your guests arriving. Guaranteed.

Are you and your DJs familiar with many different types of music?
Can we give you a request list?
The answers should be "Yes" and "Yes." A DJ's #1 priority is blending the music to please a wide variety if musical tastes and age groups. The DJ needs to have the maturity, experience, and knowledge to "read" your crowd and then play in accordance with their wishes and receptivity. And naturally, a proficient DJ must be able to handle requests.

Do you provide references from recent customers?
The answer should be "Gladly!" You probably won't hire the photographer, caterer, cake designer, decorator, etc. without obtaining references from previous clients they have serviced. Don't hire a DJ without doing the same.

Can I meet with the DJ who will perform at our event?
The answer should be "We insist!" It's most desirable to meet your DJ face to face so you can get a firsthand impression of who he is and what he's about.

Know Who You Are Hiring
Are you hiring a booking agent, a franchise, or a DJ Company? With an agent, you will probably never even meet or talk to your DJ before your event. This can lead to a very disappointing "Big Day" for you and your guests. At MTP DJ Productions
whenever you call us you will talk to an actual DJ, the Owner or events coordinator who has access to your information (usually 24 hours a day!). We are in the service business, and we believe in helping you in any way, at any time, no matter what! MTP DJ Productions is one of the most respected and well known companies in the mobile disc jockey business. Most people plan an event a year ahead of time. Make sure the company you hire will be around next year. MTP DJ Productions has been satisfying customers since 1997. Ask for References
How many names of satisfied customers can the company give you? We have the names of thousands of pleased customers who state we are your best bet for the perfect event. Some are franchised and you may be viewing or reading about a event not in your area and not about the DJ or company you are hiring. What About Price
Most DJ's fees are negotiable depending on the day, date, times, and the location that you are requesting. We have prime seasons, just like hotels and airlines. Wedding months and Christmas time are our peak seasons and during our "off season", Sunday’s thru Friday’s and early morning show’s you can expect to save some money!
Be Careful!
Beware of unprofessional sales pitches including unbelievable claims of enormous music libraries, hottest light shows, that they are number one, unfounded criticism of competition, suspiciously low price or lack of interest in your requests and concerns. MTP DJ Productions is very fortunate due to hard work and professional consistency to be considered the largest and customer service oriented entertainment companies in the triad and only a few DJ/Entertainment companies in this area can TRULY say this. We take our business very seriously. We want your event to be perfect and we are diligent in making every show the "best". Remember you can sort hype from fact by asking the right questions and for quality references.
10 Good Questions To Ask of your DJ/Event Company
1.
Ask about the DJ’s presentation. Ask them to explain how they will handle the details of the introductions, first dance, cake cutting, bouquet & garter and special requested dances. You want to be comfortable with the DJ’s style and personality.
2.
Ask what he or she will be wearing. Some DJ’s wear tuxedos or suits others may show up in sweat pants… but don’t count on it unless you ask.
*MTP DJ’s are in formal attire for your special day!

Ask if the DJ will need to be provided a meal during the reception. Remember, it is your responsibility to provide them with a meal if they want one -- a hungry DJ is not a happy DJ!
*MTP DJ’s do not consume alcoholic beverages while at the show! Were there to work and handle your event for you and your guest!
4.
Ask how many breaks the DJ will take during the reception and will there be music played during these breaks.
*MTP DJ’s DO NOT TAKE BREAKS…were there with you from start until the end! We make sure your event is flawless.
5.
Ask about the DJ’s start and end times. Does the price include music during the cocktail hour and/or during dinner? Include this specific information in your contract.
* MTP does not charge for set-up or break-down…your times are actual playing or show time. You are able to add hours per your contract…just ask your DJ at your event they will be happy to help you.
6.
Ask about song selections. Can you choose from a song list. Can you choose a "no play" song list. Does the DJ have a wide variety of song selections. Can the DJ play songs to suite the tastes of ALL your guests (maybe two or three generations).
7.
Ask how many CD’s the DJ will bring to the event. They may tell you that they have a collection of over 1,000 CD’s but they may only bring 200 to the event.

8.
Make sure you ask who will be performing at your wedding. If you are working
with a DJ service, ask to meet with the DJ ahead of time.
*We assign our a DJ that will best fit all the needs of your event about 2 weeks out and have back up DJ’s on hand in the event of accident.
9.
Ask about equipment. A DJ should have professional sound equipment -
not "home consumer" gear. Be sure that the DJ’s speakers and sound system will accommodate your event location. (loud enough BUT NOT overpowering!)

Ask if they need a tablecloth or linens for their table(s).
You don’t want to take all the time to decorate your reception location
and have the DJ table stand out because it is an ugly brown card table.
*Let us know…we bring a standard 6 foot table with black table skirt to each event…you may provide a table and skirt to your event or catering color needs…
